Follow the steps below to create your first community:
- Start by pressing “Create new community”. If you do not see this, press the “home” icon or visit app.intreehub.com/communities
- The first step is to fill in your basic information. Start by naming your community and providing a brief, clear, and enticing description.
- Add your website URL to make it easier for new members to learn more about you.
- Next, choose your unique handle. Our system will auto-suggest a handle based on your community name, but you can change it. Be aware that it cannot be changed once you’ve saved your handle.
- Lastly, choose 1-3 appropriate categories for your community's mission. These categories will not be visible to members but will help Intree suggest potential partners for your community.
- Now upload a logo and cover photo. These will appear on your community profile on the Intree app.
- You also have the option to select your country and add your “community” address. The address will only appear on Treets if you opt for it.
- Now, choose your visibility settings. You can keep your community “hidden”, meaning members cannot find the community via search through the intree app. Or “Discoverable”, meaning users can find it by searching for your community name or handle.
- Next, decide whether you want anyone to be able to join or whether members must apply to join first.
- If you set the community to “apply to join", you can select an application method.
- Choosing the e-mail verification method allows users to join after they have verified their e-mail address. This method ensures that only authentic users can join.
- You can also opt to limit access to users with access to specific e-mail domains. To do that, input your preferred e-mail domain and press “add new domain”. You can also specify if and when you want the system to ask the user to verify again. This ensures that members who lose access to your e-mail domain will, in time, also lose access to your community.
- You can also opt for an in-app verification method. This method requires members to send an application via Intree, which you must accept or reject through Intree Hub.
- If you want your community to grow exponentially, you can allow members to invite new members. This does not override any application gate you have enabled.
- If you prefer, you can disable the community feed. In this case, your community will not feature a feed, and neither you nor your members can post.
- With our Pro plan, you can also make the members list private. Otherwise, members can see all other member profiles in the member tab on the Intree app.
